Tim Peake, a British astronaut currently spending about six months on the International Space Station, has a particularly good view of Earth.
A new video released by the European Space Agency shows Peake's special perspective of the planet from above in high definition.
The 1.5-minute video shows everything from Peake's launch to the UK flag prominently displayed on his arm during a spacewalk. Green auroras and lightning dance above the planet in a few particularly beautiful scenes.
Generally, astronauts and cosmonauts on the station are up there specifically to work, but because of their unique positions above the world, they are also tasked with quite a bit of public outreach. Read more...
