London Heathrow Airport has released several new images of what its third runway expansion could look like, if development plans get the approval.
Images show a new central terminal area and a business park, to be built at the west of Terminal 5, providing space to replace commercial premises lost to the third runway, and underground passenger system to reduce travel times between terminals has also been depicted.

In a statement released by the airport, authorities say that the new plans would favor the expansion of M25, London's main highway, with 14 lanes. "Our proposal also complements existing plans already in place to better connect Heathrow and the UK," the airport stated in a press release.
The third runway expansion plans would help Heathrow to manage up to 740,000 flights a year and provide enough capacity until at least 2040. However, the project has faced criticism from political and environmental groups.
