Severe weather rolled through the Northeast on Tuesday, pummeling several states and dropping a rare hailstorm in the Boston area, including downtown. Golfball-sized hailstones fell across the area along with heavy rain and winds.

According to local news reports, the storms downed trees and knocked out power to around tens of thousands of customers across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
