Air New Zealand’s first Boeing 787-9 went out for its first flight on Wednesday. The jet features the unusual and striking black paint scheme.
The carrier has ten of the jets on order, and expects to take delivery sometime this summer. The first revenue flight is scheduled for October 15, between Auckland and Perth. The airliner will debut to Shanghai and Tokyo in the following weeks.
While the airplane is all-black, there is no relation to the New Zealand national rugby team, the All Blacks.
