Arguably the car the Chevy Volt should have been, the Cadillac ELR is a plug-in hybrid for discerning luxury car buyers. This sexy hunk of 21st century technology will set you back between $60,000 and $70,000, which is pocket change for a guy like Jay Leno. So it’s no surprise that the ELR showed up in Leno’s garage.
Armed with 208 horsepower and a sportier, edgier look, the 2014 Cadillac ELR is a Volt in Caddy clothing. That’s what all that luxury gets you, though features like range-enhancing paddle shiftersshould help.
Leno talks tech with a couple of GM engineers before getting behind the wheel, and it isn’t long before the veteran comedian is singing the praises of this hybrid luxury car. It’s a “different” kind of fun for Leno, as he tries to get the ELR to drive as efficiently as possible. But will buyers respond in a similar fashion?
