Turkish Airlines is on a narrowbody spending spree. Its aggressive expansion plans from its hub in Istanbul are based on its narrowbody operation, and today's announcement that Turkish will order 40 737 MAX 8 and 10 MAX 9s follows the airline's recent commitment to order four A320 NEO and 53 A321 NEOs (in addition to Boeing 737 NGs and Airbus A321 CEOs).
After both orders have been finalized, Boeing's firm MAX count will be 1235 while Airbus will count 2125 firm orders for the NEO. For now, here's how the firm order book looks for both types.
