2014 Chevrolet Corvette | Every Line Matters

2014 Chevrolet Corvette | Every Line Matters:

The 2014 Corvette exterior was sculpted for optimal aerodynamic performance. Every line, every vent, every millimeter performs.
Precisely sculpted design and good looks meets unmatched performance in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Behind the scenes, engineers have used some of the most advanced computer-aided modeling programs to optimize every inch of the car. Through aerodynamic optimization, the Corvette has the ability to generate stability-enhancing down force at high speeds.
Chevrolet engineers have also taken some lessons from the race track. Similar to the cars in the Corvette Racing program, the 2014 Corvette will channel cooling air to cool the brakes, transmission and differential for enhanced performance and maximum efficiency.
“The aerodynamic performance of the new Corvette enables it to slice through the air with unprecedented efficiency while delivering excellent stability and confidence at high speeds,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “Down force helps maintain weight on the tires when the driver lifts off the throttle, for greater control during cornering on the track. Off the track, the reduced lift at freeway speeds results in a more stable overall feel and more precise steering feedback.”

The design of the all-new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette leverages lessons learned from Corvette racing to reduce lift for greater high-speed stability, in addition to directing cooling air to the brakes, transmission and differential for increased track capability.
Over the past sixty years, Corvette has been at the top of its game in design and performance, and the 2014 model will be sure to blend form and function to produce a sleek and sexy addition to the Corvette family.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette will be introduced on Sunday, January 13, 2013. For more information and video content, please visit www.one13thirteen.com.
