iPhone 5 is the most practical iPhone to date but you are bitter about how the redesign was not revolutionary anymore since Steve Jobs left. The iPhone 4 was revolutionary for having a back-plate made of glass but look at it! It was a not practical at all! It looked great but it was so fragile. Meanwhile, the new Black iPhone 5 looks great AND its more durable. You’ are also mad that Apple is playing catch-up with the Android comeptitors with the new 4G LTE and the 4-inch Retina display but you will see that the iPhone 5 still has value to offer.
iPhone redesign:
Apple decided to replace the aluminum chassis and the back plate of glass for an aluminum unibody. The unibody acts as an exoskelton to protect the iPhone from having terrible glass shatters at the back. Not only this but using the aluminum allowed the iPhone to be made thinner – 18% thinner to be precise. Can I say that again? 18%! Samsung Galaxy S3 was only 0.1 mm thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S2. Even though I currently use the HTC One X, I can appreciate the new construction of the redesign – its actually the best redesign for the iPhone ever.
New Innovation: 4G LTE and EarPods
Yes, 4G LTE is not completely new and for those who don’t know, 4G LTE is a technology that allows devices to have blazing fast data network speeds that rival home Wi-Fi speeds. Apple didn’t invent it but they mastered the technology. Rather than using two separate network chips, CDMA and 4G 4LTE, Apple managed to integrate them both and just use one chip. What this means for the consumer is that this not only saves space in the iPhone to make it thinner but it also improved energy efficiency. Anyone with a Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X or Samsung Galaxy Note with LTE will already know that 4G LTE devours your battery fast but the iPhone still has great browsing time with 4G LTE network connectivity.
Can your Samsung Galaxy S3 or HTC One X last 8 hours of web browsing? I don’t think so. My HTC One X gets about 3-4 hours of continuous browsing with 4G LTE if I am lucky.
Apple’s launch if the iPhone 5 with 4G LTE is 1.5 years later than the first 4 LTE connected made by HTC but Apple didn’t do a poor job. My HTC One X compromises its battery life for its high network speeds. Instead of compromise, Apple took the time to optimize.

Playing Catching isn’t so bad – I’m glad Apple actually caught up
Many people are so mad that it took the iPhone so many years to transition to the mainstream screen ratio 16:9 and make a larger display – the 4-inch retina display. But keep in mind that not everybody wants a large 4.8 inch display on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and that can drive away existing iPhone customers. I, myself, love the larger displays for viewing comfort but I also hate to put them in my pocket. I used the Samsung Galaxy Note for only 1 week and I had to get rid of it because it just felt so uncomfortable in my pocket.
Apple wanted to be conservative. They wanted to make a larger phone without sacrificing too much one-handed operations for the existing consumer base. If Apple made the iPhone 5 too big, some consumers could jump ship to find a cheaper smartphone with a smaller screen from its Android competitors like the Motorola Razr M.
Camera
The outer lens element is made from sapphire crystal – its almost as strong as diamond so your lens should never get scratched. Does your phone have that? Probably not. No.
iOS 6
iOS 6 with iPhone can seem just boring or mundane so you might not like it but with over 700, 000 Apps, I’m sure anyone can find something he or she enjoys. For me, this is FlipBoard and for another this is Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. There is also the new Maps features and added languages and regions for Siri,
So Much for So Little Space
Apple did so much in so little space. They not only fit the iPhone 4S in 18% less space, they also improved on every aspect – from the thinner and more vibrant and responsive screen technology to integrating network chips together to save energy. The iPhone 5 does not need to boast about the specs of the A6 since iOS performs on a much lighter platform than Android but what Apple DID DO is emphasize on experience. Just look at the screenshot of Real Racing 3. The graphics rendering and processing for the game just looks so incredible.
Conclusion
In the end, if you don’t like the iPhoen 5, then you just aren’t Apple’s target consumer. That’s great! Now, you can find a better smartphone solution for yourself whether that may be a BlackBerry, Windows Phone or an Android one. But there’s no need for you to hate on your friend for choosing the iPhone 5 because it could be exactly what he or she wants.
