Bell Helicopter, as was reported here weeks ago, uneiled its new model 525 Relentless Super Medium helicopter program Sunday at the Heli-Expo trade show in Dallas.
With much pomp and circumstance and sound effects, curtains that lifted and video walls that moved, Bell Chief Executive John Garrison said the new helicopter "is in a class by itself."
Garrison said the new helicopter reflects a "relentless commitment" on the part of Bell to its customers and their needs. The new helicopter, he said, would be "out of the box reliable." The helicopter, Bell's biggest ever, will be able to carry up to 16 passengers long distances.
Designed in large part for flying to deep water oil platforms, the first customer for the aircraft is Petroleum Helicopters Inc.
Bell released few details immediately but is holding an afternoon press conference.
