Joey Ruiter’s mirror-finished Moto Undone may be as aerodynamic as a big shiny brick, but it’s also virtually invisible. And this makes it — obviously — awesome.
Moto is an electric motorcycle inside a block of polished metal. Its 1000w 48v electric hub motor will run for three hours, or around 90 miles, and runs silently. This stealthy motor combines with the chameleon-like skin to make a bike that you won’t see — or hear — coming.
Sure, it may not be safe, but from a distance it looks like the rider is just flying above the asphalt.
The Moto is kind of like a reversed Land Speeder. Did you know that Luke’s floating jalopy actually had wheels? These were covered up with mirrors during shooting, so that they reflected the surrounding desert and disappeared.
Concerned about the lack of instrumentation? Don’t be. The plan for this concept design is that the info would be relayed to a smartphone sat atop the carcass of the Moto.
Despite looking hugely impractical, uncomfortable and frankly dangerous, I still love it. Maybe it’s just my inbuilt male obsession with chrome?
