iOS 5 Beta 5 released, find out what’s new

iOS 5 Beta 5 released, find out what’s new: "

ios 5Developers will be busy this weekend with testing the new beta version of iOS 5. iOS 5 Beta 5 has just been released as another over-the-air update to Beta 4. This beta version isn’t as exciting as previous beta versions since it contains numerous bug fixes and no major additions. However, I’ve picked out some of the larger and more noticeable changes, so read on!

  • Setup help: More “help” menus are added to the device setup screens. For example, a question mark appears on the first setup screen. When tapped, you can view more information about what you’re supposed to be doing. Some other screens are explained more in-depth, as well, in the help menus. Another small addition to the setup feature is that you can go back to the WiFi-setup screen by pressing the home button (in case you skipped the WiFi setup or want to change something…)

  • Hearing Aid Mode: Better functionality with hearing aids.

  • Camera button in camera roll: When browsing photos in the Photos app, you can easily access the Camera app with a new camera button that appears in the lower left of the screen.

  • Bug fixes. Yep, Beta 5 squashes those bugs!

This extravagant list will be updated whenever something new is found, but I wouldn’t expect much more.

iOS 5 is set to be released to the public this Fall, alongside iCloud.
