Preparations continue towards the planned launch attempt of the Atlas V carrying the U.S. Air Force’s second X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV-2) at Cape Canaveral AFS, Florida. The weather so far appears to be more co-operative for an attempt than yesterday when strong winds and showery cumulus clouds forced range officials to scrub the launch late in the afternoon. Target time for lift off is 5.46 pm EST from Space Launch Complex-41 launch pad, later than originally planned after a faulty pressure regulator in the interstage adapter helium purge system had to be replaced. Just a few moments ago launch personnel had almost completed the fueling of the liquid hydrogen tank in the rocket’s Centaur upper stage and weather remains in the ‘green’ for launch.
