This is the EBR 1190RS, the latest street bike from visionary motorcycle designer Erik Buell. This pic was snapped this morning in Michigan, moments before Buell loaded it onto a truck headed for the Indy Dealer Expo.
For those who don’t know, Buell is synonymous with American crotch rockets. The Buell motorcycle company went from upstart privateer to a jewel in the Harley-Davidson crown before Harley dumped it in 2009 to save money. Down but not out, Buell launched Erik Buell Racing.
The bike is based on the EBR 1190RR racer, with a Rotax engine expected to produce something in the ballpark of 165 horsepower. Buell is aiming the bike at the Ducati 1198 R and says it will be super-exclusive, which means it also will be super-expensive.
